Return to the stronghold of security and prosperity,
You prisoners of hope;
Even today do I declare that I will restore
Double your former prosperity to you.
Zechariah 9:12
I
am overjoyed to write this post today.
Three
years ago at this time, I was slobbering all over my lap top, expressing my
sad and broken heart because my daughter’s life spun out of control and I
couldn’t bear the brokenness I saw on her face.
Her husband, the man she loved like no other, came home from deployment
and walked right out of her life leaving her to cope with a baby just a few months
old and no family member nearby to cry with or babysit. You helped us! I felt rescued, supported, and encouraged
when you came alongside us with your loving words, beautiful cards, emails, testimonies and
most importantly your powerful prayers. Hands
down, this was the time in my life when I felt the most loved and carried by
the Body of Christ. Our family pulled
through with strength and purpose focusing on Jesus and our covenant blessings. We learned the meaning of restoration. We look nothing like we did! Thank you!
We
got the good news last night. I couldn’t
wait to tell you! I am proud to
announce that our daughter, Carrie, is officially engaged to Paul, a loving
Christian man she met at church last fall who has pursued her relentlessly and
loves little Susanna like she’s his own.
This
post connects to my friends at Spiritual Sundays where inspiration sustained
me in the hard times.
What a wonderful testimony of God's faithfulness.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for your daughter and your family. Blessings to you - Marsha
Wow! That is so incredible. I remember when all that went down and it's so great to hear of the restoration that has taken place. God is good! And tell your daughter Congrats for me.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful, Mary!!! This photo is great!
ReplyDeleteI was trying not to read ahead, but hoping all the same.
... doing a mental dance over here!
I am sitting here reading this with goose bumps!! Oh what an answer to prayer. I remember so well when you asked for prayer for Carrie and I have watched and read as you both have shared God's faithfulness during this journey.
ReplyDeleteI am so thrilled for Carrie, and for your whole family Mary. Oh how good it is to see the way God has met her needs, and now this new little family begins their own journey.
There is NOTHING better than a good old God sent answer to the prayers of our hearts!
Overjoyed in Texas!! :)

A huge congrats to Carrie and Paul...They look like a great couple....I can feel your joy and love that you shared this good news.
ReplyDeleteJust seeing the picture of them, one could just sense the love and joy they both share. Now, to read your words, that's a double dose of JOY! Joy that comes only from the Hands of the One Who loves to heal, restore, bless,etc...etc...
ReplyDeleteThank you sister Mary for sharing with me another faith marker, reminding me that truly He is always faithful no matter how tough our trek is. I'm so happy for sister Carrie. Well, I had goose bumps all over me reading this post, Mary...
ReplyDeleteI admired Carrie for remaining faithful to her covenant marriage until the very end.
But God loves surprise endings, doesn't He?
Paul knows what a prize catch he's had, and won't let go.
Praising God with you all!
Much love
Lidia
Congratulations to your daughter! God is good--He always provides a way for happiness for His children. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for your daughter. Thank you for your prayers for my daughter Carrie. Her husband is recovering nicely from his broken back and the hospital showed them mercy by declaring them a charity case so they had very low hospital bills to pay. God is so good and so full of mercy and grace. I awill pry for a God-blessed marriage for your daughter.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your daugther Mary!! How wonderful for your family!! I'm so happy for you all! :)

ReplyDeleteMary, I am thrilled to read this news! God is so good and He does restore. What a beautiful couple they make.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and love,

God is good... I write often about my daughters, they give so much in the way of subject matter.
ReplyDeleteI have three, two were from my wife's first marriage. I was one of those people who said, "never," but God had different ideas... My daughters are equal to me, yes they test my wife and I often, but they are mine and I love each one of them the same way... God is in the business of miracles and restoration.
Oh, Mary! Thank you for sharing your joy with us all! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI've been there with my own daughter. I now know you understand...
Our Father is the Restorer! Hallelujah! I rejoice with you!
Oh my goodness. Hallelujah & praise the Lord!!!! I am so excited for your whole family, knowing how faithful God has been in bringing beauty from ashes.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo!
