I just learned that my Mom was placed in a lovely rehab facility and she’ll be there for five weeks. Just before the holidays, she came home from the hospital but is not doing well. I’m flying out to Chicago on Sunday. I don’t know what to expect. When my brothers and sister call, the reports conflict each other. It’s hard because I’m so far away. Mom told me on the phone that she can feel the prayers that are coming her way and she was thankful. I thought of another thing I could do for her, but I can't do this without help. I could ask my blog friends to send her a card to cheer her up. I have this vision of a blast of love through card therapy. This is her address if you feel like you would like to help me with this:

Mom is 96 and has a wonderful sense of humor. She loves dogs, children and Jesus. I wish you could meet her; she would make you smile!
I recently posted about my 2012 Word from the Lord: “Obedience.” It is no surprise to me that now I must follow up my words with action and go. I wonder what lessons God has in store for me. I would appreciate any prayers you can whisper for me and my family right now. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Sometimes, my first inclination is to say "I'm sorry about..." when I hear not so great of a news...But with our just finished "coffee and cookie break" with the Lord, I would like to say that "God will be glorified in everything even through this trial" sister. I'm glad you spoke to my heart about "obedience" the day before I visited my uncle (as you know now about my healing wounds). I wasn't feeling well but I knew the Lord wanted me to see him and his family. Ahh. I wanted to stomp my feet and turn the other way but what benefit would that do? Until your words nudged me, too aside from His Word that kept convicting me. Thank you sister. Thank you for your encouragement to me always. I will keep your mom in prayers...And what an awesome idea to send cards her way! I pray for the Lord's guidance, wisdom, healing, protection as we continue to follow His leading in everything. My card will be on its way. God bless you and protect you as you see your mom. I know that will bring comfort to her!
ReplyDeleteYour mom sounds like a special person. I am always amazed by someone at that age who retains their sense of humor. What a blessing.

ReplyDelete.... I'm totally "in", Mary. Please stay safe and give your sweet momma a big hug from me, OK?
Mary, I would love to send a card to your mother. She loves the same things that I do so we have that in common. But after all, all we need is Jesus in common, right?
ReplyDeleteMary, I will be praying for you as you travel to be with her. May the Lord grant you peace and patience as you deal with the staff in this facility. I know you will be a light to all you encounter.
Blessings and love,
Debbie
