The Lord GOD is my strength,
And He has made my feet like hinds' feet,
And makes me walk on my high places.
Habakkuk 3:19
With a verse like this one, you’ve got to know that one of those life challenges has manifested. But my joy is intact!
Last May of this year, I had a fairly large well repair bill. But I swallowed hard, paid the bill and praised God that we really haven’t had any well bills since last summer, 2009, when a Monsoon storm arose and lightening hit our well and damaged our pump. Then came June this year, and a breaker had to be repaired. At least this bill was significantly smaller!
Last Thursday the pump died. Fortunately, we only had to be without water one day. The repairmen are fast…and expensive. This bill was three times the anticipated cost. I’m still reading it in disbelief.
I am choosing joy today. There is nothing like flowing water to wash clothes and wash dishes with not to mention flushing the toilets. I can’t live without water. I can’t live without the Living Water either. Jesus is joy and merriment to my parched soul. He sustains me. How about you?
Choose joy today and don’t forget to visit Angel and the joyful writers at Why I Count it all Joy Wednesday!
Mary,

Bless your heart.
ReplyDeleteGirl, each Sunday when we tithe, I write in the memo, "Seed for _____." Ever since I started writing "Seed for financial breakthrough" (a couple of weeks now) some jobs have come in for my husband's company.
I pray your seed will reap a harvest of financial breakthrough too!
JOY JOY JOY!

Water...we can't live without it, even though it comes to us at a great expense at times. Thank you, Mary, for the wonderful example of choosing joy on a day that it would be so easy to cave in to dispair. You are a blessing.
ReplyDeleteI'm praying for finances to pay off that bill and healing for your knee tonight and praising God for His stength that He's giving you!!

Great, sacred perspective... to count it all a joy, even in the midst of strife. Praying God supplies all your need and then some!
