My husband excels in so many things, but he is no “Mr. Fix it.” Yet, he has a willing heart and confidence to repair anything. When those gooseneck kitchen faucets became the popular rage, he installed one proudly in my kitchen sink. My girlfriend, Joni, dropped by for coffee one morning and was puzzled as to how to shut off the faucet when she rinsed her cup. I yelled into the kitchen “just think opposite direction, Joni!” "How do you live with this man?" my single girlfriend chided.
My current dilemma is my laptop. My husband put some software in it for me and noticed how my space bar jumps at times while he typed. So he fixed my space bar. But he broke it and now when I type a word, I press both my index fingers down on the space bar for a space and then type the next word. Can you say frustrating? How about time consuming?
When I type a comment on another's blog, I’ve learned to be brief when I use my laptop! This is a good thing. It’s like playing a game: “How can I express myself in fewer words?” Brevity has been a lesson that’s been on my “to do” list of self improvements. Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.” (Ecclesiastes 5:1-2)
The good news is that I received a surprise Valentine’s gift. A new keyboard is on order! I’ll let you know how it goes when my sweetheart installs it.
Oh Mary you both just make me smile! He was so thoughtful in all he does for you and your kindness and patience make a frustrating situation just disappear! You teach me on sooo many levels and I cherish you!! Thankyou for being such a godly mentor!
ReplyDeleteHope your keyboard comes quickly ;)
My Sweet Friend,
ReplyDeleteYou always make me smile too when I come here. My husband is not much of a Mr. Fix it kind of man, so when something technical like this happens with the computer, I immediately call my son. He is very good at that kind of thing...but oh you make me chuckle. What would we do without our beautiful husbands...I would be so lost without my beloved.
I hope your keyboard comes very, very soon dear sister and I have complete faith in your husband when he installs in for you. :D
Love you,
Alleluiabelle
You made me smile, too. What a sweet husband though who tries his best...He is fortunate that you are trying to have "few words"... :) I try to do the same with my DH. He's a great hubby who likes to fix things, too. The problem sometimes, he keeps going! I tell him to stop! It's like he has that battery "Energizer" that never runs out! :)
ReplyDeleteGod bless our hubbies. Like what sis Abelle said, "what are we gonna' do without them?"
Hope your keyboard arrives soon! God bless you sister. Praying and always keeping you in thoughts.Love you in Christ.
Ha. You poor thing. Unfortunately, my hubby would expect ME to figure out the computer (which is not a good thing).
ReplyDeleteMary,
ReplyDeleteHere is hoping that in no time flat you will have a new keyboard installed and no more space button issues.
AH the life we live at the hands of our computers!
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
You are a special smile from the Father, love you.
ReplyDeleteI know too well about your laptop loss. My son was using my laptop and closed it, with the mouse in between. The screen broke but I setup the laptop directly to my desktop monitor. I was so upset.
ReplyDeleteHope you new keyboard comes in soon.
Yoli :)
You are so funny! Yay for a new keyboard! :)
ReplyDeleteOur husbands love to play the "man card" as my daughter and I call it! Surely a plug-in keyboard shouldn't run amuck?! LOL
