It’s
always a good idea to begin a Christian prayer meeting with repentance. I noticed a bit of imbalance, however, in a Christian prayer group I joined meeting on Zoom. Racism in our
country, and the world for that matter, grips the hearts of prayer
warriors. We want to present ourselves
clean and pure before Almighty God as we talk to Him about all the chaos we
face.
In
my opinion, the leaders of the group over-emphasized White privilege and repented too long. Though I agree we
all need to educate ourselves as to the misfortunes of the early Black plantations
with its hurts and bitter mistreatment, I see a pattern of groups using the
victim card and perpetrating hate every time the evil one instills our nation
to riot. How do we as a nation get
passed this mess and heal; by asking forgiveness over and over again for being
White?
I’m
originally from Chicago. My siblings
live there and yesterday I received a text message reporting the sad stats over
the Memorial holiday: 22 killed and 96 wounded
in gang shootings on the city’s south side.
Where is the outrage for the loss of all those lives in their community?
Where
is the outrage in the Hispanic communities, the Jewish communities or any
minority’s community? What about the
abuse some Christians face for their faith?
Let’s
seek balance. Yes, Christian leaders
remind me to love. They’re just not
telling me how. It doesn’t matter. I figured it out myself.
God
is a God of love; but He’s a God of justice too. In this year which I’m told is the year of
the mouth, I am speaking decrees with Scripture in my mouth. It’s wrong to respond in hate when I see hate in others. Today I received a friend’s email with a link to an article from
BLM apprehending White women and forcing them to kneel before them because of
White privilege. After I finished reading the
article, I prayed for those BLM faces decreeing that every knee shall bow and
every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
Then I claimed those hate-filled hooligans for the kingdom of God. I
pray for their chains to break from all that entangles them.
It’s a better day for me when I refuse to get caught up in that emotion.
I’m saying what God says over these tumultuous times and I believe He hears from on high and sends angels to fight this war when we ask. Let’s be proud of who we are regardless of skin color for we are children of God made in His image and likeness. That’s our identity. That’s the truth. This is a spiritual war. Let’s pick up our spiritual God-given weapons and fight.
I believe in God, but my God is the Creator of the World, not the God of religions.
ReplyDeleteGod, the Creator of the World has given every race a territory and a culture. He didn't want them mixed - that's the reason.
Man has violated and disobeyed the rules of the Creation by war, migration, slavery - so here we are, no solution only destruction. as mixing is not in God's books.
Religions didn't see that coming. They even sent missionaries to Africa to replace africans' God given culture with european one (beginning of white supremacy?!).
I agree and disagree with you, Duta. I don’t like religion either because many religions worship God but it’s a man-made God in their image, not the God of the Bible. God’s holy Word teaches He wants a personal relationship with His children. Those that know Him and accept Jesus Christ, the Messiah, His Son, He then leads into all truth. Everybody needs a plumb line and the Bible is mine for truth.
DeleteThis week has been soooo hard. Just yesterday I confided to my Pastor that I'm struggling with hatred. Nope, didn't try and crouch it. True, I don't understand but violence isn't the answer. I'll kneel to anyone but my Savior Jesus Christ.
ReplyDeleteSHOULD have written kneel NOT to anyone but....
DeleteThanks for your honesty, Myra. We face a battle between evil and good and emotions creep in and we need to stay aware. I, too, will only bow to my Savior.
DeleteWorking then in Correctional setting, I had seen both sides... Where a violent, drug influenced person could take more than 10 deputies to hold that person down from hurting them or staff or himself/herself. Then I saw those bad apples that infects the whole basket that has also good, honest and hard working law enforcement officers. When I blogged about "judging right"long ago, it wasn't comfortable to do so. But I was talking about not judging people but judging/discerning the lies, the weapons the spiritual enemies use to disable God's work among His people. His truth twisted. His Word applied stopping short where it would apply only to one's agenda. Churches are subtly penetrated by the spiritual enemies. I hardly hear anyone preaching about His truth. People are being conditioned to not offend forgetting about the righteous anger that comes from God.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't help that the media doesn't report the truth but rather give their opinions. There's nothing wrong with peaceful protests but those bad ones use that opportunity to do their crimes. Sad that it's not really about color but the opportunity to destroy this nation by those wanting it destroyed. It's indeed a spiritual battle and we can all kneel to pray for God's direction and His intervention. For many blinders even among His children to be removed. Blessings and love to you sister Mary. Stay strong in the Lord's mighty power.
What I meant by saying I hardly hear anyone preaching His truth" are those churches that are only "feel good" kind of preaching about Christianity.
ReplyDeleteThese times call for us to stand for truth and that's never easy. I agree, churches are more comfortable with feel good preaching but now we need Holy Spirit power like never before. Our nation is at the crossroads. But then, all God needs is a remnant!!!!! Staying strong with you, Rosel, in the Lord's mighty power.
DeleteThank you Mary. I don't follow BLM agenda at all. And I agree there needs to be outrage over gang violence. I know too many young people who have died because of gang violence and 100% DISAGRREE with DUTA's comment about race mixing as my husband is white and we have three beautiful daughters. I'll leave it at that.
ReplyDeleteI'm encouraged to see courageous Blacks call out the gangs and all of us, as well, to get a hold of God's truth and get our lives right. Our God of the Bible has no limitations! Jesus destroyed legalism at the cross. Blessings to you and your beautiful family!
DeleteAMEN, AND AMEN!!! Wish I could make bigger font here to declare my wholehearted agreement with you! This is another ploy of satan to cause God's people to grovel and apologize for who they are. We are all equal in God's sight, and none of us should ever apologize for being who He created us to be! It is ridiculous how much time is being wasted on apologizing and trying to appease the foul spirits that are rampant in our world right now. There is neither Jew nor Greek. God sees us through the blood of Jesus, and there are NO racial divides in His Kingdom. I am SO sick and tired of the discord. I love dear Regina who commented above me, and it just occurred to me, that my spiritual eyes do not see her as a different race than me. She is my sweet friend and sister in the Lord, and that is that. WHO cares what we look like on the outside? As Christians, we all have the same royal blood of Jesus covering us, and it is beautiful to see how we are in one accord. Love you so much, Mary, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for speaking the truth!
ReplyDeleteI am mightily blessed by you, sister. My, you have a way with words. I connected with Regina in heart way before I realized her skin color and mine were not the same, too. The sisterhood we enjoy, Cheryl, is a taste of heaven isn't it?
DeleteOh dear friend...Waiting on that trumpet to sound!!!! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteYep, Cindy!

ReplyDeleteHi Mary,
ReplyDeleteI was brought up in a town in South Wales that had every nationality you could think of living there, as we were very close to the docks. I never saw any prejudice there, everyone got on with everyone else and I would not have wanted to be brought up anywhere else in my younger years. Regarding the black people, I believe it is only the top layer of their skin that is dark, and that is to protect them from very hot weather. The real person is what is on the inside, not what is on the outside.
You have a blessed childhood, indeed! Thanks for your perspective, Brenda.
