Hello! This post comes to you from Mary's daughter, Carrie. My mom is recovering from her second knee surgery and I have come from San Diego to help mom cook and clean, and raise her spirits. My youngest daughter, Amy, has been a good distraction from PT and timers for pill taking. I overhear her playing on my mother's bed...she's clearly cheating at a game of Crazy 8's or Go Fish, but like it says in Proverbs 17, a cheerful heart is good medicine, and I can hear the cheer in my mother's voice. This time next year, I think those two will be dancing together by the Christmas tree! We love our family and being together, but we know the true healing is happening due to your prayers, and my mom thanks each one of you. She is getting better by the day, walking now and pain is being managed. We are grateful.
A few weeks ago we celebrated my dad's 70th birthday with family portraits outside of Sedona, AZ. Here are a few of our favorites! Thank you for prayers for our family, present and past.
God's love is a gift to us all. Merry Christmas!

Thank you for updating us, Carrie ..... your sweet mom's been on my mind! :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes I tire of the (over-used term) "amazing"; but in this case, these photos, it's true! What a super gift to one another!
Thank you for the update! The pictures are wonderful and I'm so happy to hear she is doing well.

Oh, I am so thankful you posted this, Carrie. Your dear Mom is such a gem...I know you already know that, though! I pray for her and your Dad often. So happy to see the wonderful pictures of all of you together! It is nice to put faces with names and to "meet" you here tonight! It is such a blessing that you can be there with your dear Mom during this time of recuperation and healing. I am sure that little Amy is a wonderful distraction from the pain! Please give your Mom a big hug from Cheryl, and tell her I love and appreciate her and am praying for her!! God bless all of you with a very Merry Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for the update and for the lovely family pictures.
ReplyDeleteGlad to learn that your Mom has well undergone the surgery and is now in the recovery stage.
Blessings, and a merry Christmas to you all!
Lieve groeten uit Holland voor je moeder en jullie hele familie! (Warm greetings to your mom, you and the whole family!
ReplyDeleteThank you for updating us and letting us know that sister Mary is doing well. I think it helps to pray for specifics (though God already knows even before we say anything). I bet that little Amy of yours is the "best pain reliever" sister Mary has ever tasted. I assumed your dad might be the one to update us since he mentioned "his service" was cheap when it came to helping sister Mary during the 1st procedure. So, he got a classic guitar if I recall correctly. But boy! He got the best gift this time around with all these awesome photos of his whole, beloved family. You guys rock! And may you all have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with love, hope, faith...Prayers continue and isn't it awesome that we have a God Who never slumbers? Blessings to you sister Carrie and God bless you all.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great picture and family! I'm praying for your mom and a speedy recovery and the entire family. Merry Christmas to you and all of yours.
ReplyDeleteTell your dad happy late birthday and I'm looking forward to our next cup of coffee.
Merry Christmas sister Mary. That is an awesome news of recovery, thanks and praise to the One Who hears our petitions! Tylenol? That's it? If not for God's grace, what else could it be? I remember when giving birth, everyone around me was screaming and I was the calmest patient!!! No drugs! The nurse said "push!" and there I was like so calm and repeated, "Okay now for me to do so?" I knew my spirit was calmed by His presence in that room. (Sorry to bring that story in :):... No doubt! You will have all great opportunities to do more now with your new knees! Looking forward to hear more adventures from you as you walk more and farther in this spiritual journey!!! May we endure as we walk despite the "birth pains" surrounding us...Blessings and love to you sister Mary. Stay strong in the Lord's mighty power!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's great! Merry Christmas to you and your family. May you feel God's love and comfort and especially His healing hands this Christmas.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and your family! Blessings!
DeleteHi, I came here via Cheryl's site, and the prayer day being offered through her invitation. May the Lord bring you great strength as you do the hard work of PT and resting in between. But may HE do the even harder work, and bring the healing of knitting bones and replacement parts together! (My husband is going for a knee replacement in April, so I understand a little about the process required.) I will continue to pray for you!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful photos and beautiful family! Please send your mom greetings from Japan! I love what you shared about seeing her dancing with your daughter next year, I believe with you for that and it makes me smile at her joy of when she is recovered fully and even now as God`s great healing is working in her and bringing strength to her bones and joy to her heart!! Blessings and love to you and all your family!!
ReplyDeleteMay this year be the one in which all your wishes come true.
ReplyDeleteThe one in which your dreams may turn into reality and all your fears may fade away.
Happy New Year!
Lucja

ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. Wishes for a complete recovery and a happy and especially healthy 2018!
ReplyDeleteGrace be with you all
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update, she has been an encouragement to me as in November had my first total knee replacement and thanking God I did. I am walking so much better, even hike a small hill the other day. Will continue to pray for her recovery.
ReplyDeleteSo thankful to hear of this good report for dear Mary! Please let her know I will continue lifting her up in prayer, and believing that very soon she will be back out doing her favorite activities. It sounds like you are such a blessing to her Carrie, to help her out, and Amy with her help at keeping her entertained! Praying for a quick and speedy recovery!!!!
ReplyDeleteCarrie, thank you so much for the update on your mom. I am glad to know that Amy is doing her part in helping to lift your mother's spirits! :) Young ones have a way of doing that.
ReplyDeleteLoved the pictures...thank you for sharing them...and a happy belated birthday to your dad.
Please give your mom a hug from me and let her know that I continue to pray. xx
