Rainfall in the desert is dramatic and refreshing. Today
marks day four of a consistent pattern and it’s so unusual for our climate. I love how the soaking rain washes off the
dust from plants and trees and intensifies their colors. The temperatures dropped, the clouds are dark
and I just want to curl up with some hot tea and a good book and sit by the
window. I just saw a graceful hummingbird
balance himself on a small delicate branch of my Mulberry tree in front of my
kitchen window. My husband is
driven. Even indoors, he will find
things to accomplish. Our different
temperaments fascinate me.
I
am hoping… that our president and congressional leaders will make wise choices
regarding the threat of Syria.
I
remember…that 12 years ago today terrorists attacked our nation.
I
am thankful… for my family and the support we all give to one another. We met in Phoenix last weekend and although
the reasons we gathered were less than desirable, we had a good time being together.
We have learned how to accentuate the good and make the most of every
circumstance. I am grateful for the times we have as a family
to pray together and draw strength from our personal Savior; it keeps us united and strong. It was fun to shop
with one of my daughters at Nordstrom’s and I loved the long conversations our family
enjoyed over good meals out that we didn’t have to cook.
I
was pleasantly surprised… and happy to be able to spend an afternoon with
Susanna. Somebody had to babysit….it
might as well be me, and Papa and Auntie too!
I
feel stressful… when I think of child-custody laws and pray that mediators,
lawyers and judges will do only what is stable and secure for a child.
I
am reading… Whispers of Moonlight by Lori Wick.
My
favorite quote is… "I am not a
product of my circumstances. I am a product of my decisions." -Stephen
Covey
I
close with this promise in God’s Word:
Cast
your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you;
He will never allow the
righteous to be shaken. Psalm 55:22

ReplyDeleteI very much enjoyed reading your Ruby Red Journal selections. We have had lots of rain in the mountains, too (I actually posted about that on Monday!). But yes, it's beautiful in a way, isn't it??
ReplyDeletePraying for the custody situation, and for our country - the things that are causing you stress.
But I also join you in praising The Sustainer. What would we do without Him???
GOD BLESS!
Visiting back and you have a wonderful blog. I can sense goodness and happiness.
