This Christmas I’m loving the bright lights that I’m seeing everywhere. I’ve strung them in new ways throughout my home and the evenings beckon me to quiet down and enjoy the twinkling show.
I smiled when I read Maya Angelou’s quote:
'I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.'
I haven’t found myself tangled in the lights, at least not physically! However, it’s easy at Christmastime to get emotionally tangled in all the seasonal hype. But today I stumbled across a scripture verse that I’m embracing:
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." John 8: 12
Praise Jesus, the Light of the World! Merry Christmas to you, my precious friends. May you and I be drawn to Jesus like never before in the coming year.

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and powerful thought! And it is a wonderful privilege to be a part of those lights reflecting the Light of the world! I just pray that my bulb will not die down...Knowing it will affect the rest of the bulbs. Merry Christmas sister Mary and love to you!
ReplyDeleteEntangled in His Life is a good devotion. We do need to slow down and enjoy the beauty of Christmas.

How interesting. I just now visited another blog that had that very same verse!
ReplyDeleteJust the thought of its truth thrills me.
A dark world, like the darkness in a cave - impenetrable.
And then, like one match being struck - a baby is born.
And Light enters the darkness - never to be extinguished...
Praise to Jesus! And I join you, Mary, in your poignant wish - may we be drawn to Him like never before...
Have a wonderful Christmas...
GOD BLESS!
Good eveing, sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of you earlier tonight as we prepared for the traditional Polish Christmas Eve supper at DH's daugher's place.
Merry CHRISTmas, and thank you for the light you shine!
I don't want to get tangled in the lights Mary. You might have to help me untangle.

ReplyDeleteI like that Maya Angelou quote! I remember the old fashioned lights when I was a kid where we had to replace the bulbs AND untangle the cords! Have a blessed New Year!
