Christmas hugs to you, my friends, and thank you for stopping by to cheer me on a few days ago. I felt overwhelmed, but I found the recipe of my dreams through your encouragement and now I have the perfect Christmas present for my boss. Sassy Granny steered me in the right direction and I not only prepared a delicious Sweet Potato Pie, but it was so easy. Doesn’t it look wonderful? Wish you were here with me. I cherish each and every one of you! I would put on the coffee and tea and serve you pie. Then I would take my little festive book off the shelf, “The Christmas Conversation Piece,” and ask you a question. Let’s see….how about this one: “If you had to give the same gift to everyone on your Christmas list, what would it be?”
Here’s a picture I found of me and the boss at a Christmas party several years ago. I read an article in a women’s magazine that was intriguing. It stated that if you really want to impress the boss, dress like he/she does! So I went to the party in the same fashion as his never-changing style: jeans with a white shirt! I can’t wait to see his face when I give him the pie. I’ve learned that you can take a man out of the south, but you can never take the south out of him. Christmas time is a time of memories and I hope my pie gift will surround him with happy thoughts of family, great southern food and joyful memories of his childhood in Georgia.
I posted this pie on my recipe blog if you are curious, http://manyrecipes371.blogspot.com
I love you my friend...the pie looks so DELICIOUS and I love your picture with you and the boss...your face radiates with love and friendliness as does your beautiful heart.

Looks great, Mom. I've never had sweet potato pie but I'm sure I'd like it.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to give everyone the same gift, I'd give them all a hug. Everyone would feel loved and it'd be right in my price range! :)

I told my hubby that I needed to come back over here and visit your blog today because I wanted to see that Sweet Potato Pie that you came up with. You see, I know how we women are when we are on a mission! :-) I just knew you would search until you found one!
ReplyDeleteNow I want to make one, too!
Hmmm...I clicked on the link, but it wouldn't work! I would like to have the recipe. It sure looks good! I'll try again tomorrow. :-)

Oh Mary! He will love that pie because it came straight from your heart and made with love by your precious hands! You just bless me with your kind heart, so full of love and thoughtfulness. There are just those people that when you are around them you know you have been in the Presence of the Lord and you, my friend, are one of those precious ones who just pour out the Love of the Lord in all you do!

ReplyDelete(I was just thinking the other day to pick 12 posers for a "12 days of Christmas" post!)
Meanwhile, your question?
Even after 10-ish years pondering, I can't come up with a satisfying answer. What would YOU answer?
PS - Your sweet potato pie looks really yummy!
Your picture together is awesome. It's not so often that you find workers getting along like that, especially with the boss. Praying that He will bless you both more. I wonder what he'll say when he gets that favorite pie? He might be speechless! Take care sister!
ReplyDeleteThat pie looks so real and ready to eat..... encouraging post. Thank you for sharing. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteYour boss will appreciate that pie! :) And I love the picture on your header - so beautiful, just like your fall one! Good to hear from you too, thanks for the warm wishes.
