These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God. Titus 2: 4,5
God knew we women would need mentors. I am counting it all joy today that several women invested in my life. Helen was one of those “seasoned” women of God who knew how to share God’s Word, share His love and interact with women and offer Godly encouragement. I cherished the times I spent with Helen driving along to Women’s Seminars, Bible 
Studies or luncheons. I could talk Helen into just about anything and she would say: “let’s do it!” Once I hosted a “High Tea” in my home for all the ladies in our Bible study. Helen searched the thrift stores and found a costume to wear! What a sport. I was thinking about her over the weekend. We gals always knew when Helen’s wedding anniversary came along because she took a few days off and planned them with her man. They honeymooned in northern Arizona and returned every fall to celebrate their married life.
I’m counting it joy that last weekend, my sweetheart and I were able to spend a day in Northern Arizona in the mountains and have lunch at our favorite restaurant. We visited our favorite shops and enjoyed the cooler temperatures. It’s something we do in August, our anniversary month!
Helen, now living with Jesus, still is with me. She taught me about the joy of investing in women’s lives. The mentor’s influence stays with you long after she leaves your life. Shortly, I will complete my Bible Study one-year plan. Helen was really big on getting women to read through the Bible in a year. I wish she was here to talk it over with me. Imagine the joy of that!

What sweet memories you have!! How fun that you and your hubby spent time in the mountains. We loved driving through Arizona. The mountains, the desert, it was all so beautiful and different from what we have. Probably should have asked you about restaurants and things, will next time.
