It was 30 years ago when I fell madly in love with Jesus and I asked Him into my heart. I prayed for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and noticed that my desires changed. I now yearned to be a powerful Christian full of commitment. I signed up for faith on steroids.
Our young family decided to pack up the camping gear and camp from Illinois to Arizona to visit my mom and dad. I was so confident in my newfound faith that I asked to take over the wheel once we arrived in Arizona. However, I got off course and we ended up further north than the route my husband outlined. I woke up my sleeping husband and told him all about the Indian Reservation I was driving through. It was getting late and I prayed for lodging because there wasn’t time to set up our tent. We finally came to a village on the Navajo reservation with a resort! However, every room was booked. Tom told me to take our girls, then four and one, to the restroom and clean them up because we will have no other option other than to spend the night in our vehicle. As I washed their little faces and brushed their teeth, I asked the Lord if we could have a miracle. I had no problem believing that He could provide a room for our little family. We left the restroom and I met my husband in the lobby and the clerk behind the reservation counter flagged me down. “There you are! I’ve been looking all around for you!” Someone had just cancelled. I have a room for you!” We slept in comfortable beds that night in a plush room!
I’m praising God together with my friends today at Spiritual Sundays. We serve a Heavenly Father who provides for His children and He is pleased with our faith in Him.
Publish his glorious deeds among the nations.
Tell everyone about the amazing things he does.
Psalm 96:3
We do indeed serve an awesome, caring God!
ReplyDeleteCute title for your post.

What a delightful post. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. You must have really liked Arizona. I love living AZ. I never thought I would ever like it let alone love it, but that was before I moved here. I fell in love with it from the start. I think God had everything to do with it.

Charlotte
We had a similar experience when Arizona first captivated us ten years ago. There's something so amazing about nature's finery here; so, too, God's unique touch.
ReplyDeleteI had so hoped to get your way again before heading AWAY from Arizona next week. Alas, I've run out of time, but not out of affections.
I look forward to remaining in touch, and for all the good reports you'll be sharing in the weeks and mnonths to come.
Hugs,
Kathleen

btw... what we ate in Norway is fish, fish and fish, of names and varieties I've never heard of, not to mention vanilla bean and fresh fruit little cups of wonderfulness, etc. etc. Lots of fresh breads and cheeses too.
