Another word from Carrie

Hi friends,

First off, I want to thank you all for your prayers. I've felt the peace of the Lord on me during my darkest hours. The events of the last few days have been bewildering, at best. The divorce was granted, and although I received much favor from the Judge over child support, the ruling came down that we share joint custody of our daughter Susanna, and I must remain in San Diego for the next 14 months until Robin relocates with the Navy to the east coast. At that time, custody will be revisited, and I will most likely be awarded primary custodian, but, I guess you never know. The court orders are the opposite of what I prayed for, but if there is anything I've learned in this very long 12 month trial, it is that God is still on His throne. Nothing can thwart God's plans, so this must be His will for a reason. After a short crying spell, I heard crystal clearly in my spirit, "I have not abandoned you." I know the Word of God tells me that He has a plan for me, to prosper me and give me hope and a future. I am still standing.

Thank you again for all your beautiful comments and prayer support. I pray for you all too, and expect blessings to fall liberally on you all.

  1. Oh Carrie, I know how disappointed you must be with this ruling. But you're so right; God sits on the throne and He will take care of you and your baby. I wish you didn't have to stay in San Diego and could come to be with your family who loves you dearly. But maybe this is also a part of God's plan.

I've gone through many difficult and hurtful trials and I have to say I wouldn't be the person I am today if not for those times. It's hard to accept that at the time, believe me I know. But nothing happens to us that isn't first filtered through His fingers of love. And Carrie, God loves you so much!

    Blessings and love,

  2. I know that in His timing God will work it all out for the good of those that love and trust Him. He has you in His arms and under the covering of His mighty wings. Our prayers remain for you and your family that God will continue to provide for you all.

I hope you stop by my newest blog and join as a follower. I'd love to have you!

    Love and Hugs ~ Kat

  3. Carrie:

I'm so glad you posted. I've been wondering how yesterday went. I like what Debbie wrote on her comments here. I too, feel your disappointment, and I also see your faith, in the God who has you safely in His hands.

He sees the whole picture, and He is going to provide and care for you both. It's so good to know that He knows the beginning AND the end, and all the in between.

I love your response to this news, to trust Him even though it is hard to understand right now.

I will be praying for both of you during this time.

And Debbie's so right... He loves you both so much!

  4. Ah Carrie ... what a hurtful happening. Some day Susanna will know the truth, but "somedays" can seem so, so far away.
Your attitude is remarkable - and reassuring to those of us who care.
I'm holding you all in my prayers.

  5. I didn't want to leave a comment but just a prayer yet, I didn't want you to not know I did. Just praying for the Lord's comfort to ease what hurts. For Him to restore what was broken. For His provisions for all the needs. For His discernment to choose the right path. For His wisdom to guide you...For His blessings be upon you. To guard little Susanna and protect her.

Your words reflect your courage and strength you found in the Lord. He didn't promise us a smooth journey but He did promise that He will be with us along the way. Take care sister Carrie. May you find comfort in knowing that many of us will continue to lift you up in prayers. God bless you all. Thank you sister Mary.

  6. Oh Carrie......You and your family have been on my heart and in my prayers and I've been anxiously awaiting the results of the ruling. I know that the disappointment is heavy and this present season very daunting, but know that He's already going before you and Susanna and preparing the way! Just like He said "I have not abandoned you".......He is with you and His loving hand of protection, provision and direction is upon you both!

Know that I will continue to pray for you!

    He is Faithfull!

    Sweet Blessings!

  7. God bless you Carrie, I know how your heart is hurting right now. But, your faith is shining through sweetie. Asking God to be very near to you and precious Susanna, may peace and protection be over you both. God loves you, and He will take care of you. Stay strong dear, love you.

  9. Hi Carrie (and Mary), I'm so sorry this dramatic episode continues to be so painful, so confusing. I know there's a bigger, and more beautiful picture being painted even though the details are not yet visible.

God's richest blessings and deepest peace to you!

"I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

  10. Hi, Carrie and Mary, Praying for you all. I do love that verse about the good plans God has for us. Blessings ~

  11. Carrie,

Indeed the LORD has not and never will, abandon you. You are HIS and I believe that although this part may not have been the way you so desired, HE has the full, clear plan and it will work out EXACTLY the way it all should for the glory of GOD.

I continue to pray on each area as the Holy Spirit leads.

Much love to you and your family.

    Psalm 27:13-14

  12. Carrie, I am new to your blog but I wanted to say "If God be for you, who can be against you." He is indeed still on the throne. His love for His daughters (you and your daughter) will never end. Continue to wait (trust, rely) on God.

  13. Praying for your family and Carrie. So thankful that the Lord continues to lift her up and she is trusting Him to see her through this painful time. Hugs....

  14. Carrie,
Indeed, HE knows what is best. HE will see you through. HE is working towards a greater end. One day, you will look back and see HIS hand in each decision.
    Love, hugs, and prayers,

  15. Dear Carrie and Mary,
I'm praying for you, though I didn't comment before. I'm so sorry that the court results were disappointing. God will see you through this, and His plan is always the right in Him. God bless your family.

  16. Thinking of you and remembering you in prayer..
He is the lifter of your head.
He is and will continue to care for you and yours and will not leave you nor forsake you.

    In His love & friendship,
    Deborah \0/ xo
