I'm linking to Kat's Bible Study today covering Lesson #7 in Sheila Walsh's Beautiful Things Happen When A Woman Trusts God. I'm smiling big that Kat used a photo of a waterfall because I snapped a waterfall at the zoo last week. So I'm copying Kat; call me a copycat!
This week, the lesson covered several points about trusting God using Psalm 16 as a backdrop. A focus for me was verses 9 through 11:
9. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure.
10. because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay,
11. You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
Try re-writing this passage honestly to express your own trust level in God. Here are my thoughts: When this journey on earth ceases and my earth suit is traded for a resurrected body, I will bask in the Lord's presence. I've made my decision in this life to follow Jesus and in eternity, I will comprehend the fullness of joy. What an exchange that will be!
Sheila asks us to focus on feeling the transition into eternity by sharing a recent experience of a loved one's death. Over the past two years, two of my close friends died at any early age. I attended church with Janine and Elizabeth, I often ate lunch with them and worked in Women's Ministry alongside them. For me, reality set in as I watched both of their memorial services complete with slide shows of them with husbands, kids, and family and friends. I prayed often with these two women for faith to trust God with life's challenges. Their battle on earth is over and now they are enjoying their reward of eternity. I'm still here, and I'm still trusting God each day.
Tabitha, a woman disciple of Jesus in Acts 9 was known for her good works. Peter was summoned when she died; however, she arose from death when he attended her bedside and called her forth. Sheila poses a personal question: "If I died today, how would I be remembered?"
Besides being crazy in love with my family and nurturing all of them, I'm a lover of God's Word. I love to study it but I also like to read it as a love letter. The promises of God thrill me. I'm getting a lot of spiritual muscles these days claiming God's Word over some impossible circumstances, but I'm trusting God to back up His claims! I want to be remembered as a woman who trusted her God and testified to His faithfulness. These are the important things to me. I just read an article by Zoro about being radical for Jesus. He states: "Both Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson left this world without their earthly possessions--and so will you and I."
A special thanks to Kat, again, this week at Heart2Heart for leading this lesson and encouraging us to trust God!

Lots to think about here. It does sort of stop me in my tracks when I realize how short this life is, and how each day needs to count. I'm getting older by the minute! I sense it and it makes me more determined than ever to do it right! His way!
