Her Testimony of Faith

I had one of those “divine appointments” this morning as I got ready for work. Christian TV was on and I listened to an amazing testimony of a woman who went through a difficult time of spiritual warfare. I put my makeup down and got up from my dressing table and sat in front of the TV; my interest was piqued. The courageous woman testified about our Lord and how he knows where we are and what we are facing! After she spoke, her pastor encouraged the rest of us to trust in God who never leaves us and longs to heal us and deliver us. He quoted a promise in the Bible I’ve been basing my faith on for weeks! The woman’s testimony is the same as my present trial and I sat there amazed at the goodness of God to let me meet her this way and hear how He rescued her.

I called the ministry’s prayer line and was connected to a passionate sister in Christ who understood the evil of spiritual warfare. Our time of prayer was blessed with hope and vision. This warrior had eyes to see in prayer the many things that God has revealed in His Word to me recently. It makes me want to shout “hallelujah !"

God’s Word in Revelation 12:11 says: “And they overcame him because of the blood of the lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death. I’m encouraged by the testimony of deliverance I heard this morning. I’m thankful I know and serve a God who is in the business of healing His people. My day is coming.

  1. That was neat that the Lord showed you that He's always there for you, never leaving you and helping you, just how He helped that woman. What a beautiful reminder of His wonderful promises! I'm happy for you and yet, we must never cease with prayers. You had already overcome...because of Jesus! Love you sister.

2 Cor.10:4,5 - "We use God's mighty weapons, not mere worldly weapons, to knock down the devil's strongholds. With these weapons, we break down every proud argument that keeps people from knowing God. With these weapons, we conquer their rebellious ideas, and we teach them to obey Christ."

  2. Amen Mary! Praise God for leading you to this very moment and meeting you right where you were! Prophetic words and moments such as these are such a gift and amazing moments that are never forgotten!!! Yes I believe your day is coming, your obedience will be rewarded and from glory to glory you will be delivered! and I know your testimony will be as this one....you will help someone else in their time of need because you are a faithful and willing daughter that HE knows will be glory to HIM!
I love you and am so thankful for this day and all HE gave, revealed and how HE met you in such a special way! Our God is soooo good and so amazing!

  5. Don't you just love it the way God arranges things in exactly the right timing. Praise His Name for this message He gave you, and that He is indeed with each of us and knows what we are facing.
Praying for that breakthrough and victory.
    God bless :)

  6. Praise the LORD that you were able to connect and pray in agreement with another prayer counselor.

I was a prayer counselor years ago at CBN in VA and it was a great joy and privilege to go to the Throne with people who called in for prayer.

There is nothing like going to the foot of the Cross in prayer!

My prayers remain for you and your family dear sister.

    Love you.

Spiritual Sundays ~ Flamboyant Love

I was shopping for a birthday card during my lunch hour last week when I overheard an elderly woman in the card aisle talking to her niece, a woman about my age. Here is what she said: “ I threw out all my cards. They never meant those words anyway .” Lots of laughter followed. How sad I thought to be unable to receive the love sent to her in the sentiments of a card. This incident got me thinking about the love of God and resolving to embrace it when it is offered to me. It doesn’t matter if I think I’m worthy of such extravagant love; He thinks so! In contrast, just a day later I received one of those gorgeous hand-crafted cards in the mail from my friend, Kay, who loves paper crafting. It was so pretty and love and joy just oozed out of it when I opened it. This is a sample of her designs at Creativity is Good. Kay wrote a beautiful note to me in the card reminding me of God’s tender love for me. She ended her thoughts with “The God of the universe loves us more than we can ever f...

A Veteran's Story

I noticed Bill sitting in our local park where I walk.   He glanced my way just as I finished the last exercise walk song on my playlist.   He shouted and pointed to my car:   “Hey, is that your car with the Nam front license plate?   I stepped closer into the veranda where Bill sat on a picnic bench.   I noticed his Vietnam Vet cap and instantly I knew why I walked there that day.   The Marine Vet served during the 1960’s, the same time span as my husband.   Bill talked a lot about the war evoking my emotions from laughter to tears.   My South Vietnam front plate often prompts a conversation with a stranger and I’ve learned a deep respect for it over the years.   It is my way of listening to a veteran.   I enjoyed listening to Bill.   He made me laugh in spots but he made me cry as well.   Like when he talked about the sandwich lady.   “Do you ever eat at the sandwich shop in the gas station down the street...

Lunch With the Girls on Gurley Street

While vacuuming a few days ago, I had a conversation with myself wondering if I should delete my blog. It was just a stray thought that came into my head while I was on a self pity trip. When life gets hard, I don’t always feel like rejoicing and with a blog dedicated to smiling in life, well it is just too much pressure! Then something wonderful happened. I am smiling again and can’t wait to write about it! Two precious sisters-in-Christ, amazing Arizona bloggers from the valley, drove up north and offered mega doses of encouragement. Today I would like to feature the wonderful afternoon I spent in Prescott with Debbie from Heart Choices and Kathleen from Sassy Granny. Debbie and I met last year at a blogger luncheon, so I knew this charming lady would have us laughing with her friendly ease. She is beautiful inside and out and oh, what a heart of love this gal has! It was such a blessing to meet Kathleen in person after following her blog this past year. I was su...
