We’ve all seen the cutesy “Child on Board” signs suctioned to cars warning us to drive carefully as we follow in traffic. My comparison today is that it’s good to get on board with childlike faith.
I can’t really say I’m a “poster child” for trust when it comes to my trials and challenges in life, but I’m determined to keep learning how to trust God when life gets tough. How can childlike faith function in me when I’m under stress?
1. Obedience is required! In Genesis 22: 1-18, Abraham’s example of sacrificing his one and only son shows me his resolve to obey. I have always been grateful for Abraham’s keen ability to hear the angel of the Lord when his obedience was completed and his son was spared. Then I remember Jesus, who gave His life on the cross. I never want to take that sacrifice for granted; my levels of trust and hope grow when I think of what He did for me.
2. Believing is required! In Mark 9: 20-25, Jesus healed the boy with a mute spirit. When the family asked for compassion and healing, Jesus replied: “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
3. Grace is required! In Acts 14: 26-27, the grace of God completed the work of strengthening the community of believers and even making some new converts despite persecution. It's nice to contemplate His grace and not so much my abilities!
4. Peace is required! In Philippians 4: 8-9, I must choose what I think about. Things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, good report…on these I should meditate.
Susanna posed for me today! Her easy-going temperament reminds me in this photo that trusting God is the way to go!
I so enjoyed your message Mary but I even more so enjoyed that precious Baby Girl! Oh my goodness she is BEAUTIFUL!

I just wonder where she got those "precious smiles" of her... She is so adorable.
ReplyDeleteYour love for our faithful Savior is so inspiring. Yes, we must trust in no one alone but Christ. May the Lord continue to mold me and continue to do a heart surgery on me. To make me have a childlike faith that pleases Him. Blessings and love to you sister and thank you for sharing your precious grandchild with us.
AMEN....
