Wait for the LORD;
Be strong and let your heart take courage;
Yes, wait for the LORD.
Psalm 27:14
Psalm 27:14
Sometimes it is hard to wait for the Lord. I heard a teacher this week say the word “wait” means pain. That’s the truth! The same teacher gave another definition of wait: “being braided together in God.” I like that one better!
Be sure to check out the inspirational writings at Spiritual Sundays. Thanks to Ginger and Charlotte for hosting this site and encouraging us today to seek the Lord.
"Being braided together with God" I like that too! Thanks for your inspiring post. Have a wonderful Sunday.

Ah...Ladysales how true we need to wait on the Lord. I like that the Psalmist writes to be strong and let your heart take courage. It is hard when I am anxious to be strong and have courage. Thanks for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteSo very true, bless you sweetie.
ReplyDeleteMary, I just finished re-reading Andrew Murray's book "Waiting on God". So this post is great timing. I want to share a little something from that book.
ReplyDeleteThe author was writing about eagles and how the mother eagle trains the baby eagles to fly. She pushes them out and at first they flutter and fall and she swoops in and lifts them up beneath their wings.
Our "nests" often get stirred up. Our strength fails and we get weary. "And all the while He is spreading His strong wings beneath you to rest your weakness opn and offering His everlasting strength to work in you. And all He asks is that you sink down in your weariness and wait on Him and allow Him in His Jehovah-strength to carry you as you ride on the wings of His omnipotence."
Remember Isaiah 40:28 and wait on Him. He is faithful and trustworthy.
I've missed you lately but I'm still praying.
Love,
Debbie
That was my situation last night...waiting...patiently for His answers to my pleas at work...I think it's great to learn how to persevere and just claim that peace that comes from Him. Knowing that no matter how hard the circumstances and we want answers sometimes now, He still knows what's best, when the perfect timing is...But we have to learn to wait...Doing so, helps us make our character stronger.
ReplyDeleteThank you and I mean "Thank you so much" for always praying!!! I felt your prayers last night. I had confidence knowing I wasn't alone :) Love you sister! Enjoy your weekend!
This is a very inspiring post - thank you for posting on Spiritual Sundays. "Being braided together with God." Could anything be better?

Oh...my dear sweet Mary, Thank you so very much from the depths of my being for your prayers. I have been miserable, but all along I have known that it was not as bad as it could be. I have been able to sleep at night despite all the congestion and you know what a miracle that has been. You are certainly tuned in to our precious Heavenly Father and I praise GOD for your gift of discernment.
ReplyDeleteI have changed allergy medications and hoping this will help. Keep those prayers coming.
LOVE YOU MUCH, andrea
G'evening Mary! It's so good to see your face light up my monitor again.
ReplyDelete"Being braided together with God"? I confess I had to re-read -- and read again, allowing that concept to absorb ... I like it; I like it a lot!
I'm praying your challenges have taken a respite of late. 'Continue to hold you in my prayers.
I need to read this scripture more often!! Thank-you so much for sharing it today. I liked both of those definition.

Ginger
ahhh waiting. yes waiting takes such strength and we need courage no matter what it is that each of us are "waiting" for, and oh the pain! :) but like you I appreciate the idea of being braided together in God much better. It is in the twists and turn and blending together that we are flowing into him and HE into us and as we join together HE is covering us and strengthening us more and more.
ReplyDeleteI love you Mary and know it must be good to be home with your honey but know I am still praying for your family!!!
Oh, I love that...bein braided together with God. Yes, waiting for answers to prayer can be painful, but He does always answer them...I used to be in a hurry, but now I know to wait for His perfect timing.
ReplyDeleteIt is a difficult thing to do.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that the truth? Someone said,"God is never late...But He's never early either." :)
ReplyDeletewow--I love that--what a neat phrase!! THANKS
ReplyDeleteA very strong and good point. Thank you for your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteBlessings...Jeanne
I like the second definition better too. I think that wait is a hard word for most everybody. We don't like to wait. I find myself impatient in a regular restaurant when we have to wait because of getting used to fast food. Sometimes God says wait and it turns out he means wait for a long time. It is good to know that it is always well worth the wait and he always knows and does what's best.

Good post. Yesterday I received a new book in the mail, Sacred Waiting: Waiting on God in a World That Waits for Nothing by David Timms. It looks good. I will be reviewing it in a few days. Have a great week.

Been up at 2am, woke up with prayers already in my lips for wonderful siblings in Christ here in this blogosphere. Just want to say good morning and that I'm praying with you sister. Not sure if you got the cyber coffee I brought you. Be careful...it's really hot! And I pray we'd be like that, always hot for the Lord. Fan the flames in our hearts o Lord! Love you sister and take care of yourself.
