    I've missed your smiling face and coming here! Oh I laughed so hard watching this clip. I surely was due for a much needed laugh. When I clicked to come into your site, I already had a smile on my face, because that's what you make me feel even before I get into your site. What a precious, precious friend and sister you are to me. I wanted to express that again to you. When I think about you and coming here to read your posts, it goes way beyond friendships. It's all about Him and our connection was because of Him. I thank Him so much for that Mary and for you dear one.

    I'm going into to visit some people today on their sites. I don't know how far I will get, but I get so filled up when doing so and I've missed that.

A Memorial Day Reflection

  Memorial Day is always noteworthy for me and my girls.  Next Thursday marks the third year of missing their father, my husband. So many thoughts  run through my mind.  The journey of loss takes on various emotions.  The strongest feeling, at first, was emptiness.  In a split second, I would forget he departed forever.  I imagined things I needed to talk to him about when he got back home.  My mind is realistic now.  He's not coming back.  There will be no more times of sitting on the porch swing together on the front deck staring at the moon and the stars.  He would tell me all he knew about the majestic night sky. What I Learned in March

I’m sharing a few things I learned in March. 1.  I learned that early spring is a great time of year for a road trip through the Arizona desert to San Diego.   The cactus blossoms proudly unfold their color and the Mesquite trees are blooming! 2.  It’s the “little things” that bring delight to others.   Our tradition is donuts.   “Don’t bring chocolate donuts next time; we don’t need the calories.”  We gathered together last week at my daughter’s and we skipped the donuts.   The coffee pot was on when we arrived and disappointment drooped in the air.   I learned to always bring the donuts.   3.  An old fashioned Sunday afternoon in the park after church is still fashionable and is a great way to spend time with your family and your best friend.        4.  God’s beauty displays an array of colorful variety in Carlsbad, California in the spring and ...

Changing it a Bit

I learned years ago in Marriage Encounter that I need to find creative ways to keep love alive.  Avoid the boring status quo and experiment with new ways of doing things.  The principle of changing it a bit can be applied to any relationship, really.  Healthy friendship is a gift but doesn’t just fall in my lap.   I have to work at that too and think of ways to enjoy life together with those special friends. I’ve changed some things around the house recently to spice up things.  When I took down Christmas decorations, I placed my plants in different rooms and rearranged the bookcase to give the living room a different look. I drank my coffee black.  Ugh, that did not work! I knew months ago the “read through Bible” plan I especially like and have used off and on through the years would not suffice this year and found a new way to pray and study in the morning.  How refreshing to wake up to a new way of saying hello to God!...
