How many of you are the middle child? I have 2 brothers, one older and one younger. My sister is the eldest. She is celebrating her birthday next week and I will be in Illinois, visiting her, and helping her eat her birthday cake! I’m so thankful God gave me a sister:
We shared a bedroom together growing up; we rarely shared our clothes.
Every Christmas holiday, we spent hours decorating pretty cookies.
To this day, we still love to thrift-store shop.
We both grow petunias and hollyhocks just like our grandmother!
We took vacations together with our husbands to Florida and California.
We love old movies, romance, Victorian clothing and Victoria Magazine!
Happy birthday, Sis! I love you and will soon be there to give you lots of hugs!

She is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities.
She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway.
She is your partner in crime; your midnight companion someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark.
She is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink.
Some days, she’s the reason you wish you were an only child.

What a beautiful post for your sister's birthday....Blessings to her this special day...Thanks for sharing your sister with us, especially to one that never had a physical sister..Sure glad though, I can call you my sister in the Lord..that is AWESOME!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sharing about your sister and Happy Birthday in advance to her. You are both beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI did not have sisters growing up. I had 3 brothers so I missed those sister to sister times. I'm sure they are to be treasured.
Love you.
That's an amazing post to remember your sweet sister. She is beautiful like you. My oldest sister[the 1st one among 7 of us], passed away before I was born, so I didn't really have a chance to grow up with a sister.
ReplyDeleteBut God blessed me to know a lot of sisters in His family, and you're one of them and I'm so forever grateful!
Praying for a wonderful time and a safe trip right now for you and your sister. Don't forget to bring some cake back..."Just not too big" so I won't get so hyper [remember that Mother's Day cake?].
Love you sister Mary. Thank you for always visiting me because when you don't I'll bug you..Just kidding. :)
Sisters are precious indeed. I know I treasure my sister and always enjoy the time we spend together.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful visit with your sister, remembering old memories and making new ones.
How very blessed you are My Sweet Friend!!! I always wanted a sister, I have 4(count em) brothers. Don't get me wrong I love them all, but there is nothing like a sister!!
ReplyDeleteMy sweet little girls are so blessed to have each other!!
Give your sister my best, and wish her a very Happy Birthday!!

ReplyDeleteJust want to say Happy Bday to your special sis! I love that quote above. It can also mean something spiritual...God bless.
How wonderful that you and your sister are so close like that!! It is a blessing for sure:)) I have visited the canyon and loved it. We went back a second time with my daughter when she was 12, and she looked at it and then asked where are some malls!
