Game Feast



I’ve been cutting back on preparing a lot of meat recipes. My digestive system is happy and my husband has been a peach of guy telling me that my tuna casserole and refried beans are delicious. On the other hand, as soon as he heard the announcement for the Wild Game Feast in the men’s group at church, he signed up to go. Over 60 guys attended last Friday night and I enjoyed hearing how they devoured the venison, lion mountain stew and buffalo. My husband’s favorite was the elk enchiladas with jalapeño cream sauce. Macho guys!

When I picture those ravenous men devouring their delectable main course, I think to myself: “that is how I want to always yearn for the Word of God.” I envision a sit-down feast with everything my eager heart needs so I can be satisfied with a fulfilling portion. It’s a sure thing with God’s Word. He seems to know exactly what I need for the day at hand. I love the Hebrews 4:12 scripture: For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

    Very good. I read three devotional books in the morning in addition to the Bible. It never fails to amaze me how the Scriptures selections speak to my needs. Thanks for posting.

    Yes, I am in need of God's Word every day. You have an inspiring site and I truly enjoy taking my shoes off and resting here a while.     I need to feed on the word everyday, it makes me feel good all day long.I need to pray all day! That makes me feel good to know I can go to him all day any day, anytime.

Spiritual Sundays ~ Wedding Anniversary

I remember when we sold one of our homes to a dancer who starred in one of the popular TV programs from the sixties. She decided to move to her Sedona property. She shared many things with me about Hollywood during each phase of the construction like when she dated Elvis. Personally, I’ve never been an Elvis fan, so I wasn’t impressed if he was a good kisser or not. The dancer married several times but now she found the dream man and now wanted the dream home. I'm Going as Abigail This Year

I vote for more purses, toothbrushes, cups, storybooks, and Halloween costumes that feature Abigail of the Old Testament.  She is a heroin worthy to emulate, in my opinion, even more than Cinderella. Once upon a time, there was a kind woman by the name of Abigail who lived with a surly man who liked to drink a lot and have parties.  One time, King David and his army were very hungry and entered the surly man’s homestead and asked if they could come to his barbecue.  The king had a right to ask because he and his men protected the homestead’s boundary lines.  The surly man said “No.  Get off my property.”  The King had a temper and became offended.
