Shattering Rocks in Prayer



I downloaded a new app for my Asus Eee Pad Tablet and I’m having so much fun with it.   I chose a Bible Study program in the New American Standard version.  Several in our family currently face hard times and I found some significant scripture verses that not only bring into play but lend power to my intercession for them.

Do you need strength and want to declare victory over your life today?  Then these are for you too!

For by you I have run through a troop;
and by my God have I leaped over a wall.
Psalm 18:29


May they praise God while they hold a two-edged sword in their hand,
in order to take revenge on the nations, and punish foreigners.
They bind their kings in chains, and their nobles in iron shackles,
and execute the judgment to which their enemies have been sentenced.
All his loyal followers will be vindicated.    Praise the Lord!  Psalm 149: 6-9


"Behold, I have made you a new, sharp threshing sledge with double edges;
 You will thresh the mountains and pulverize them,
 And will make the hills like chaff.  Isa 41:15


For the Lord GOD helps Me, Therefore, I am not disgraced;
Therefore, I have set My face like flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed. 
Isa 50:7

And here’s my favorite:

"Is not My word like fire?" declares the LORD, "and like a hammer which shatters a rock?  Jer 23:29

    Beautifully written, Mary. Thank you so much for the verses you shared! I love how we can easily identify our own personal battles as "the wicked", etc. The Holy Spirit makes those verses come alive as comfort and strength for us as we read God's precious Word.

    I like those Bible verses. Thanks for sharing them. Sometimes Bible verses taste "sweet like honey". Those do.

    I love that you are sharing Scripture with those in your family in need of "truth" in their lives....These are beautiful truths that you left with us today....

    It's wonderful that we can have the Scriptures at our finger tips with Bible apps suited for all our gadgets.....

The Venomous Intruder

It’s the middle of rattlesnake season here on the ranch.  The local news anchor confirmed it.   I’ve seen two already.    While driving along our dirt road yesterday, I mistook a virulent enemy for a branch. It's Not Always About the Tomatoes

I like to travel with buddies and rename them.  I vacationed in Costa Rica with Lupe who loves margaritas   and gets a little loopy.   I don’t drink but I’m a fun gal.  Just ask my co-worker, Frank.  I nicknamed him Jellyfish.  I packed my underwater camera.  Jellyfish can hold his breath really long.  He modeled for my underwater photo shoot in the colossal pool at the resort our company chose for us. I am fascinated with rain forests so my favorite thing to do in Costa Rica is to take walks in them.  I signed up for the tour of an organic cacao working farm.  Lupe chose it too.  A group of us piled into tractors to view crops of watermelon, mango, rice and cattle while we chewed on natural sugar cane, their largest product.  We observed monkeys, Toucans, and sloths. Marriage Tip #44: Do What He Wants

I thought about our upcoming anniversary.   I prayed one morning for the marriages in my family, and a sentence about my own dropped in my spirit:  “ Do What He Wants .”  I paused, “Really?”  He’s his own man.  What if I end up in the wilderness camping by night and target shooting by day?  What if a coyote decides to have me as a late night snack? We celebrated our anniversary early this year, Before the kids come next week.   And we did it his way . This is how it happened.
