Phoenix in February is special because Joyce Meyer comes to town. So guess where I was last Friday? When I drove down to the conference, I almost fell over when I learned my friends saved me a seat in row 6! I could almost touch the stage.
Here’s a thought that I took home from Joyce’s topic about “Letting God Fight our Battles.” One hindrance to intimacy with the Lord is demands that people make on you. Responsible decisions have to be made on purpose if we are to have true joy. People and their expectations should not control us.
My favorite point was when she talked about 1 John 1:3. The NLT says: “We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.”
She spoke straight into my heart saying that I need to live on purpose and I need to drink in the love of God every day. I do love thinking about Him and how much He loves me. There’s something phenomenal about a woman who knows she’s loved. Such a woman has an inner glow. How can we not glow? We’ve been rescued! When you know how much you are loved by God, you become bold in prayer too. But there are times when things don’t seem to go right; I’ve been tempted to think: “Don’t you love me God?” This is such a lie and I must always remember God’s Word: “I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love.” John 15:9.

I thought this was a great love message, especially for this Valentine’s week. Keep remembering with me just how much He really does love us. It's powerful.
Great post, Mom!
ReplyDeleteI would love to hear Joyce in person. My DIL saw her two summers ago and she was so blessed!
ReplyDeleteI like what you expressed about our being rescued! We indeed have been rescued, and our lights should be shining. To think we are loved that much; awesome!
Thank you for your inspiring post, my friend. The Lord is good!
Blessings,
Sandi
You have blessed me today with this post....It's so easy to forget just how much God loves us and wants us to spend time with Him......I often image myself falling into His arms when I have just had enough of life...and I am always rewarded with feeling loved and safe...
ReplyDeleteThat deserves a rousing, "Amen!"!!
ReplyDeletebeautiful :)
ReplyDeletei really enjoyed the conference as well!
Awesome post my friend, love you.
ReplyDeleteI actually read your post earlier but got interrupted so I didn't get to leave a comment. I am so glad you got to go to this conference. I attended one years ago in Phoenix. The timing probably couldn't have been more perfect for you to experience the love and support of other women. God brings what we need just when we need it, doesn't He?
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind comment to me earlier today on Heart Choices. I really do love those children and feel blessed that God brought me to my school. It was through a pastor's wife that I got that job.
Love you,
Debbie
Whoa, what great seats you had! I have never been to a Joyce Meyer conference. You are so right in saying that we should always know we are loved by God - how it must grieve Him when we forget that!
ReplyDeleteyou got great friends. A sixth row seat. That's great. And the message.....awesome.
ReplyDeleteI love Joyce ... she is a great teacher.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this today.
God is certainly amazing!!! HIS love overwhelms me. I no longer base my decisions on others. I am able to live free "glowing" in HIS GREAT LOVE. I wish I could have been there to hear Joyce share this. I am so happy you were there and able to share the insight. I am loved ... it is great!!!
I met a old school friend that I have not seen in over 25 years. She said there was something about me then and now. She said she knew something was diffferent about me. She said I had kinda a glow about me. She shared with me that she had accepted Jesus Christ as her Saviour. She knows now too that she is loved and is too is glowing for Jesus.
Sorry so wordy. Keep glowing for HIM my friend.
Your sister in Christ,
Bren

Hi Mary -
ReplyDeleteBefore I read your post, I viewed your glow in the photo. Yes, the glow of GOD... There is nothing that compares to the glory of our dear holy Father.
Glad you were enriched, lady!
