God is so kind to usl! It all worked out well that I'm with Carrie and Susanna this week because Kathy died. Kathy is her girlfriend's mother and Carrie was able to attend the memorial service and comfort her friend while I stayed home and cared for the baby.
Last week, I found it interesting that I photographed "Birds of Paradise" when I strolled through Liberty Station. In my opinion, it is the perfect flower when I think of a memorial. I'm enjoying the photo now as I reflect on this day.
This morning I read an interesting passage in 1 Timothy 1: 9 and 10. God saved us and called us to be holy, not because of what we had done, but because of his own plan and kindness. Before the world began, God planned that Christ Jesus would show us God's kindness. Now with the coming of our Savior Christ Jesus, he has revealed it. Christ has destroyed death, and through the Good News he has brought eternal life into full view.
I'm reminded that Jesus destroyed death. Kathy is alive and perfected. That is God's kindness!

ReplyDeleteThis was a passage I haven't read for a long time... it's really rich! It has nothing to do with what we have done... thankfully! It's all about who He is and what He has done. A great Sunday morning reminder, Mary!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
What a beautiful picture and beautiful post. I love those bird of paradise plants too. My aunt used to have a huge one in her back yard that I admired.
