A Few Words From My Daughter

Friends, your response to my family's call for help has been the biggest blessing. Please know how grateful I am for your love and prayers. My daughter, Carrie, also feels your love. I introduce her to you now and she can express her gratitude in her own words.

I've never guest blogged before, but I wanted to take a moment to tell you all how humbled and appreciative I am with the overwhelming response of your prayers and concern for my mom and my family this past year. Anyone who has been through a divorce knows what a devastating time it is, especially when the rug is pulled out from under you from what you thought was a perfectly lovely life. What I have come to learn is that if Christ is not number 1, things fall apart. I can now happily report that Jesus is the love of my life, and I trust Him in every matter. The final divorce hearing is in exactly one week, June 4th, and I know that the Lord will go before me into the battle and grant me victory. I am asking for full custody of our 19 month old, Susanna, and spousal support in addition to child support. Robin has brought heinous and false accusations against me, and I know it is purely spiritual warfare. I am keeping my armor on in the front, but I am thankful I have all of you to protect my back with your powerful prayers. Sometimes I feel waves of peace hit me from out of nowhere, and I know that it is your prayers surrounding me, comforting me, and giving me strength. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Trust the Lord and do good. Live in the land and feed on truth. Enjoy serving the Lord, and he will give you what you want. Depend on the Lord; trust him, and he will take care of you. Psalm 37:3-5

  1. Sister Carrie, I don't know you in person, same with sister Mary. But at the same time, reading your words of gratitude and the love you have for the Lord, brought tears to my eyes. Of joyful tears. Knowing how very true that we are His family. We are connected because of His love. That I didn't even expect before I started blogging. I thought I would just write for Him. But He blessed me with so many precious friends/sisters in His Holy Name, like your mom.

I'm sorry to hear you are going through a divorce. But I will keep you in my prayers. Knowing specifically what to ask for. The first Scripture He had shown me when I went through my own spiritual battle [and I mean, truly against unseen enemies because my SIL was involved in a cult], was Ephesians 6:10 - "Be strong in the Lord's mighty power." I pray that over you now. Knowing that His Word does not return void. [Isa.55:11].

In reality, you don't need to thank us. That's what true followers of Christ must do: is to help with each other's burden. The least: thru prayers. And what a privilege it is to be able to do so. What a precious Susanna you have!!! May the Lord continue to guide you and your family, protect you and give you discernment. To God be the glory! God bless you all. Thank you sister Mary. Hugs.

  2. Carrie, we are privileged to come alongside of you and pray regarding your current situation. As one who has actually met your mom (twice now), I know how much she loves you. Divorce is difficult, especially when you were hit with these changing circumstances without warning.

I'm so glad to see that you're relying on the Lord. I think there was a time when I looked to my husband for everything I needed. But no man can satisfy us fully. Only Christ can ...

Please know that prayers will continue as I know your court date is coming soon. Btw, I also continue to pray for your husband and that his eyes would be opened. In the meantime, I'm praying for you and Susanna's protection and well-being.

    Hugs and love,
    Debbie

  3. Bless your precious heart Carrie. I am honored to lift you up before the Father's throne. This post really touched my heart. May you always have a love affair with the Father. He loves you beyond measure, and will be right by your side in that court room. Please take care, much love to you, Susanna, and your wonderful mom. My prayers will not cease.

  6. Hello Mary and your precious daughter, Carrie,

Mary, as you may remember I was in Maine for a week the first part of the month, and since returning I've not been visiting much in the world of blog...trying to get caught up on things outside and in has taken a lot more energy than I realized.

Anyway...having said that...I had no idea until just a few minutes ago as I started checking out your posts for the month of May that your family's trials have been so severe. My heart goes out to both of you and I will be praying from now and beyond to June 4.

Love and hugs to you both,
    Dianna

  7. Mary and Carrie,

I don't know you in person but what I do know is that we are Sisters in Christ and there is absolutely no distance in prayer! There is an army of us who are laying all of you at the feet of Jesus and we KNOW through HIM you will have victory! HE is your Vindicator, HE is Susanna's Vindicator and I come in agreement with you that HE is preparing the way!

I was a young 21 yr old and like you was in a marriage full of what I thought was love and hope for a bright future. I also had the rug pulled out from under me in just 2 months of being married when he told me he was leaving. As I look back on that time in my life I see Gods hand on me. HE became my first Love, my Strength, my Strong Tower. As time has gone by HE has never failed to be with me ~ growing, healing, stretching, comforting, and providing ALL I NEED! I know HE will do the same for you Carrie.

Like Debbie said "I am also praying for your ex to see the web of deceit and the lies he has fallen prey to.

Praying continually for all of you....

Blessings to you, your precious little one and to your Mom and the rest of your family.

  10. Carrie:
You have my prayer support. I walked this road sixteen years ago, and I'm here to report that there is life after divorce. I am sorry that you are having to walk this difficult road this week, but your anchor is solid and the Lord will see you through, no matter the details. Lean into God and allow him to be your strength as you travel these strange waters.

  12. I have come from Andrea's blog and just want to pray a blessing of grace, peace, courage as He walks you through the days ahead. He is a just and merciful God who pledges Himself to avenge His own. I love to hold to the verse 'vengeance is mine' It gives us the power to be still and know He is God.

  13. Dear Carrie......I've been holding you and Susanna in prayer since your Mom shared your battle with me awhile back. I went through a similar divorce when I was a young mom and KNOW His faithfulness to protect, defend, provide and heal in the midst of this difficult season for you and Susanna.

Isaiah 43:1-3 was one of the anchor scriptures that He gave me during that time. I pray that it will encourage and strengthen your heart.....

Thus saith the Lord that created you, Carrie
and He that formed you, FEAR NOT for I have redeemed you Carrie, I have called you by name you are mine; When you pass through the waters I will be with you, Carrie and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned neither the flame kindle upon you. For I AM THE LORD your God the Holy One of Israel, YOUR Savior. (Isaiah 43:1-3 emphasis added).

I'm standing upon the promises of God with you and particularly for your court date......

    HE IS FAITHFUL!!

    Sweet Blessings!

Because He Lives, I Can Move

I’m currently in one of those places where you lay out all the options and then you make the best decision. It seems, however, like none of the choices are fair or attractive. I know God will help me in my situation because I desire His guidance. I’m clinging to His Word which promises that ALL things work together for good for those that love God and are called according to His purpose, Romans 8:28. I heard a great teaching this week about seeking God’s will and all the freedom that surrender brings. We can know that God is bringing about a victory if we trust Him with each and every decision. The speaker illustrated his point with a famous painting. The painting depicts a look of despair on the chess player’s face. He’s playing Satan and his soul is at stake. It looks like Satan is winning. Checkmate! When Paul Morphy saw this painting back in the 1800’s, he set up a chess board and aligned the pieces to reflect the painting. Being a world champion, he studied the board. His conclusi

Humor for the Bride and Groom

A young couple decided to wed.  As the big day approached, they grew apprehensive.  Each had a problem they had never before shared with anyone, not even each other. The Groom-to-be, overcoming his fear, decided to ask his father for advice.   "Father," he said, "I am deeply concerned about the success of my marriage."  His father replied, "Don't you love this girl?"   "Oh yes, very much," he said," but you see, I have very smelly feet, and I'm afraid that my fiancĂ© will be put off by them."  "No problem," said dad, "all you have to do is wash your feet as often as possible, and always wear socks, even to bed."   Well, to him this seemed a workable solution. The bride-to-be, overcoming her fear, decided to take her problem up with her mom."  Mom," she said, "When I wake up in the morning my breath is truly awful."  "Honey," her mother consoled, "everyone has

A Veteran's Story

I noticed Bill sitting in our local park where I walk.   He glanced my way just as I finished the last exercise walk song on my playlist.   He shouted and pointed to my car:   “Hey, is that your car with the Nam front license plate?   I stepped closer into the veranda where Bill sat on a picnic bench.   I noticed his Vietnam Vet cap and instantly I knew why I walked there that day.   The Marine Vet served during the 1960’s, the same time span as my husband.   Bill talked a lot about the war evoking my emotions from laughter to tears.   My South Vietnam front plate often prompts a conversation with a stranger and I’ve learned a deep respect for it over the years.   It is my way of listening to a veteran.   I enjoyed listening to Bill.   He made me laugh in spots but he made me cry as well.   Like when he talked about the sandwich lady.   “Do you ever eat at the sandwich shop in the gas station down the street?”   I replied that I’ve order coffee once in that place with a turke
