Random Smiles

I have to tell you about the neat dream I had! I dreamt that I lived next door to John and Diana Hagee. They were the neatest neighbors! Diana gave me the warmest hug in my dream.

Have you been watching Dancing With The Stars? I changed my allegiance to Erin and Maks after seeing her do the swing dance with her long legs and arms!

Oh, by the way, clean the hoses in your car with fabric softener sheets. The mechanic who changed my oil said that a pack rat made a nest in my air filter! To prevent this, he told me to wipe down the entrance hose to the air filter; they dislike the smell . See what you learn at Pile of Smiles!

I helped my daughter with her garage sale when I was in Ca. We prayed that morning and asked God if we could at least make $300. Everything was purchased by Noon that Saturday and our profits totaled $300.20.

I miss my family in San Diego after having over 2 weeks with them and it flew by because we went everywhere! We attended the praise and worship mid-week event at the Rock Church and after praising the Lord for a few hours, the altar was open. I felt led to the prayer minister with a plaid shirt. When he prayed for me, I learned that he is going through the exact same warfare! The Holy Spirit put us together for sure. And going to the zoo, I got so much exercise! I loved watching Susanna's expressions when she saw the giraffes. She loved the ducks in the pond and squealed.

One afternoon, we visited Seaport Village (pictured) with it's beautiful landscaping and little shops. My favorite was Bath Junkie where they mix bath and shower products to your liking. You get to pick from 200 scents. I purchased Frangipane and my daughter chose a combination of citrus scents that she loves. I am enjoying soft skin again and wish we could have a blogger get together spa time . I would wash your feet in this magic so you could be sandal ready for summer! Then I would give you a big hug just like Diana Hagee gave me.

It is a blessing to know you, my fellow bloggers and read your posts and be inspired by your lives. Your friendship is a gift to me. Please know that I continue to pray for your requests believing that God is answering your great needs with His supply. I can't stop thinking about a question my Life Group friends asked me last Friday night: "How is Mary, the person (not the wife, mom, friend, saleswoman)?" I thought long and hard. I am battle weary. I continue to fight with a passion for my family to be protected from this evil spirit that is trying to steal our destiny with manipulation, deceit, and seduction. I have to stand constantly against doubt and fear when it comes to believing for God's protection especially for the innocence of a child. Today I studied Joshua 6 and saw that God gives strategies to win. We are under His blood and trusting in His deliverance and He will get all the glory just like at Jericho.

Thank you for praying for us. I am humbled at your love and support.

  6. I'm so glad that you had a wonderful time with your family in CA...but glad to have you back home and blogging again! Yes, I know that is probably selfish, but it's true. :-)

Love the picture of your little granddaughter standing at the fence on her tippy toes!

  7. what a wonderful blog! From the air hose trick to the praying with a 'fellow traveler' who understood your heart that night. I am one of those who can jump around to so many subjects, unrelated ... all going on at once. So you KNOW I loved this posting!:D

Also, have to say that I am always drawn by the smile on your face! I know I would love you in person, as I already do on your blog.

I join you in prayer for your family, whatever the needs... we all have them, and our God knows each one, and is listening and He WILL answer the prayers of our hearts.

    Love,
    Sonja

  8. I love this random post sister Mary! No! I haven't been watching tv lately. But I saw DWTS every time I visit a friend.

Keeping your request still here and standing in the gap with you and for you. The Lord brought to mind 2Kings6:16,17.

"Don't be afraid!" Elisha told him. "For there are more on our side than on theirs!" Then Elisha prayed, "O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!" The Lord opened his servant's eyes and when he looked up, he saw that the hilside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire."

Believing that for you, sister! In Jesus' Name. Love to you.

  12. Mary, you have blessed me this morning with this post!

Susanna is so precious! She reminds me of my own little granddaughters.

God is so good! His mercies never fail and are new every morning! May He give you sweet, lasting peace for anything and everything you deal with!

I have the heart of a mom. I understand!

    Much love,

    Andrea

Spiritual Sundays ~ Flamboyant Love

I was shopping for a birthday card during my lunch hour last week when I overheard an elderly woman in the card aisle talking to her niece, a woman about my age. Here is what she said: “ I threw out all my cards. They never meant those words anyway .” Lots of laughter followed. How sad I thought to be unable to receive the love sent to her in the sentiments of a card. This incident got me thinking about the love of God and resolving to embrace it when it is offered to me. It doesn’t matter if I think I’m worthy of such extravagant love; He thinks so! In contrast, just a day later I received one of those gorgeous hand-crafted cards in the mail from my friend, Kay, who loves paper crafting. It was so pretty and love and joy just oozed out of it when I opened it. This is a sample of her designs at Creativity is Good. Kay wrote a beautiful note to me in the card reminding me of God’s tender love for me. She ended her thoughts with “The God of the universe loves us more than we can ever f...

Holiday Movie Comes to Life

It’s uncanny when a new holiday movie comes out and resembles your personal life.   I came clean to my husband on that drive to the Harkins in Sedona confessing that the movie got bad ratings.   It isn’t the type of movie that he would choose to see in the first place.   Rotten Tomatoes gave it one star.   My prince charming replied:   “ Let’s see what we think of it and rate it ourselves.”   Yes!   High five to his palm! It started out as a fun afternoon date.   It would have been perfect if the lady directly in front of me didn’t have on super-strength perfume.   Smells can be troublesome when you’re prone to headaches.   I stuck my head in a big bucket of buttered popcorn; you know-- to alleviate her fragrance, because popcorn smell is less offensive.   What else is a girl like me to do? We named the genre “drama with comedy.”   Cast of characters acted like the typical family scene at Christmas tim...

A Memorial Day Reflection

Memorial Day is always noteworthy for me and my girls.  Next Thursday marks the third year of missing their father, my husband. So many thoughts  run through my mind.  The journey of loss takes on various emotions.  The strongest feeling, at first, was emptiness.  In a split second, I would forget he departed forever.  I imagined things I needed to talk to him about when he got back home.  My mind is realistic now.  He's not coming back.  There will be no more times of sitting on the porch swing together on the front deck staring at the moon and the stars.  He would tell me all he knew about the majestic night sky. I have so much I wish I could tell him, like the excitement of seeing our oldest grandchild make a decision to follow Jesus and get baptized on Mother's Day!  And our little Amy, 11 years old, I wish he could have seen her on stage receiving her induction to the National Honor Society. Our daughters have their own ...
