My Prayer Garden



Several months ago, I clearly was impressed to set aside a quiet place outdoors where I can pray and read the Bible. I asked my husband what he thought about this. Not only did he agree, he began to tackle the project and now I have a prayer garden just outside of my home where the birds feed and some dogs bark! It is here that I enjoy my morning coffee and spend time with God and pray for my loved ones. I want you to know that I take it seriously when you ask for prayer; those requests go on my list to pray for each day.



Do you seek the Lord for a word of encouragement? I do.


Today’s word comes from Romans 8:11:
But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.



I don’t know about you, but I’m grabbing this one with all my heart. I’m thankful that His power lives in me like that helping me to not give into my flesh today, but live for Him. Praise God for His Holy Spirit.

    What a delightful spot to pray!

    When my father was very sick from the cancer, that was the Scripture I meditated on as I lifted him up in prayers.

    I'm sure you are surrounded with beautiful flowers and other blooming things, like how you are so nourished in that special "spot" by the Word! God bless. Have a nice day sister Mary! I still got that "sugar overdose" from that mother's day cookie! So, I've been moving around to burn that calories off! :)

    This is just beautiful Mary! Your special prayer corner outdoors is a peaceful resting place to read the Word and to pray for others. I could hear the birds singing and to connect a voice with your face...I was elated. You sound as sweet and wonderful as you look dear, precious friend. You just absoutely made my day.

    It's lovely! Woof Woof and tweet tweet. The background noise in my prayer closet is often city life, honk honk. I am so thankful that God simply brings music to our ears whenever we pray for one another! Thank you, you little angel you.

    I just love your prayer garden. Isn't it great to have a special place to meet with the Lord and find peace? I just created a place in my never-used living room where I love to pray, read my Bible, watch the birds outside and just be.

It's Not Always About the Tomatoes

I like to travel with buddies and rename them.  I vacationed in Costa Rica with Lupe who loves margaritas   and gets a little loopy.   I don’t drink but I’m a fun gal.  Just ask my co-worker, Frank.  I nicknamed him Jellyfish.  I packed my underwater camera.  Jellyfish can hold his breath really long.  He modeled for my underwater photo shoot in the colossal pool at the resort our company chose for us. I am fascinated with rain forests so my favorite thing to do in Costa Rica is to take walks in them.  I signed up for the tour of an organic cacao working farm.  Lupe chose it too.  A group of us piled into tractors to view crops of watermelon, mango, rice and cattle while we chewed on natural sugar cane, their largest product.  We observed monkeys, Toucans, and sloths. Marriage Tip #44: Do What He Wants

I thought about our upcoming anniversary.   I prayed one morning for the marriages in my family, and a sentence about my own dropped in my spirit:  “ Do What He Wants .”  I paused, “Really?”  He’s his own man.  What if I end up in the wilderness camping by night and target shooting by day?  What if a coyote decides to have me as a late night snack? We celebrated our anniversary early this year, Before the kids come next week.   And we did it his way . This is how it happened.
