Thanks to Lynn for hosting Thankful Thursday this week. It’s a blessing to connect with others who are thankful and willing to share their lives. I like our topic this week: epic story. God is the author and we are the players in His book. I have always said that since I gave my life to Jesus Christ, I have been on an adventure. I never know what to expect but at the end of each day, I can honestly say Jesus was with me and I’m thankful for that. When I’m next to Him, I feel ten feet tall. I have confidence because He helps me and I’m utterly dependent on Him. Left to myself, I’ll wilt.
For instance, I had the day off yesterday. I had just walked out of the shower when I heard my back doorbell ring. It was a persistent ring, so I quickly threw on some clothes and ran to the kitchen. A woman representing a religious cult introduced herself as Ann. I’m glad that I was home and could meet Ann and I’m thankful for our discussion. I am praying for her. I am also thankful that I had the time to pray for my neighbors for protection against any deception since some of my neighbors don’t believe in God. I’m so thankful that Jesus is my savior. Jesus said in John 14 that no one comes to the Father except through Him. I want to see Ann and my neighbors in Heaven too!
I prayed for my daughter and her girlfriend over the weekend. They drove to San Diego for a girlfriend getaway and prayer-warrior Mama here soaked their road trip in prayer. They returned safely and had a nice visit with my other daughter whose husband is deployed. The Lord kept them safe driving around that busy city and brought them home refreshed.
I’m thankful for my hairdresser, Linda. She is a sister in the Lord and we have a good time when we get together. The owner of the salon doesn’t like it when she shares her faith, so I only follow her lead. It doesn’t seem to stop Linda! She’s courageous! Our friendship is refreshing. No matter what we’re going through, we can encourage one another to stay the course.
Where are you in God’s book? What part of the story is He writing using your life? Don’t forget to thank Him today! Go here for more thankful hearts.
Wonderful story! Isn't it wonderful to know the Author and Finisher of our faith? I pray for others to know Him, too. Happy Thankful Thursday!
