Did you hear about Lucerne recalling their eggs this week? I looked in my fridge. I did have a carton of Lucerne, but not the recalled numbers. Whew! My family will not get sick. The news station said the outcast eggs will need to be returned due to Salmonella fears.
Sometimes I feel like the outcast egg. I need to be recalled when the world or the flesh or the devil infiltrate my life. I am praising God today for the blood of Jesus Christ. It is the place I go to be washed clean. He gives me a fresh start every time I return to Him!

I can't imagine the fear this recall instill to so many of us who love eggs!
ReplyDeleteBut I can't imagine the consequences, too if we insist on being "bad" when He's been calling our attention to be recalled by Him! Great analogy sister Mary! Have a great weekend! Blessings and love.
So thankful for that "fresh start".
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend.
Blessings,
Joan
Ha! Love the expressions on the eggs. This is such a timely and heartfelt post. Here's hoping we all avoid samonella, and scramble to serve the Lord!
ReplyDeleteLove the way you used the recalled eggs to illustrate the point. They are cute eggs at that. lol
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Charlotte
Right there beside you! So thanksful that God's mercy is new every morning and that His grace is with us.

Love that picture. Yesterday I felt like I should be recalled when I seemed so “prickly” whenever I was around people. Definitely need that fresh start every day! Thanks for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteit's so cool how you worked this to our need for Him. I am so thankful He never turns away...when we're cracked or not.
ReplyDeleteWonderful analogy, Mary!
ReplyDeleteFor all outer appearances, an egg seems so "normal" - we never stop to wonder what might be lurking inside its shell.... and still, we trust.
Thanks to God who sees all things, great and small.
The whole egg drama makes me think of a similar drama where manna was concerend. The Israelites were to gather/consume their need of it the same day (no danger of hoarding issues, there!).
ReplyDeleteThe suspect eggs date back to May. There's got to be a parallel message here somewhere ...
Thank God it is for freedom that we've been set free. No "pull dates", or "best used by ..." for us. We live in the proverbial NOW, and for that I am uttered egg-static! :)
Hugs,
Kathleen
I love thought. Reminds me of the old song, "What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus."
ReplyDeleteBoy have I been that recalled (or should have been recalled) egg. Yes, thank you Jesus for the cleansing power of your blood. I would hate to infect anyone around me sick. Blessings, Patty
ReplyDeleteThat picture is GREAT....Always enjoy your blog...Happy Sunday
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
ReplyDeleteLast night I felt like I should had been recalled when something happened to upset me and I lost it... But God has given us an incredible gift of a fresh start.
And this morning I awoke feeling refreshed. Surely only God could do this!!God is good.

Lamentations 3:22-24
The unfailing love of the LORD never ends! By his mercies we have been kept from complete destruction. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each day. I say to myself, "The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!"
Love your post. We are all trying our best to be the good egg. God is loving and will guide us in our journey. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteYoli :)
Awesome post sis.
ReplyDeleteAmen! And I LOVED your adorable eggy pix. :) Thanks for the heads up on the egg situation - I hadn't heard about it. :)
ReplyDeleteThank God we are washed in the blood of the Lamb. Blessings ~
ReplyDeleteWonderful analogy! And that's just how I felt the other night. PTL we're not so hard-boiled that God can't lift us over easy. And thank God we're not deviled! He won't coddle us, but uses His goldenrod as needed. Now I have to scramble and figure out what's for supper. Keep your sunny side up! 8-]
ReplyDeleteSorry, I just couldn't resist. 8-]
Thanks ever so for your encouraging comment!
Have a JESUS-filled day! ^i^
This is great!! Made me laugh...even though it is a serious problem...the eggs come from a place not too far from where we live, but we eat organic or free range so no worry for us...this time anyway! Great analogy...
ReplyDeleteOh yes my friend, I have felt like the recalled egg more times than I want to admit! And I am so thankful, right alongside of you, for the fresh start He gives us every time!
ReplyDeleteGreat post Mary! PTL, we're cleansed, purified and made whole by the Blood of the Lamb!! Hallelujah!!
ReplyDeleteOh, and His "yoke" is easy!! :)
Luv, Hugs and Sweet Blessings!
Jackie
