Let Christ’s peace rule in your hearts…and be thankful.
My husband served two tours in Viet Nam. Today, a few members of our family, and also a co-worker, called him to thank him for his service. He was grateful for their sentiments. What a different attitude today than back in the 60’s when people harassed him for his service to our great country. My thoughts of thankfulness intensified as I pondered our military theme for Thankful Thursday. I, too, want to express my thanks to all who served our country and fought for our freedoms.
I’m thankful for my savior, Jesus Christ. His passionate love for mankind and obedience to die on the cross so I can be free is something I never want to take for granted. Talk about freedom!
I’m thankful that Jesus heals today. My daughter has been battling a cold for over a week. I’m thankful that she was able to get into her doctor’s office yesterday and I’m thankful that a compassionate neighbor down the street was able to watch Susanna for her. My daughter started feeling much better today and then I got a call that she can’t keep anything down. She is terribly weak. I don’t know if she is having a reaction to the antibiotics the doctor gave her or if she now caught the flu. I’m praying for her and thanking God for a flight that I was able to book for Friday morning. I got the last available seat. I’m trusting God for strength and healing for her and protection for the baby. San Diego, here I come again!

I agree with you that Thank God times have changed since the 60's. That was just so wrong. I will pray that your daughter recovers quickly and that the baby stays well. There is just so much going around this year.
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice of the neighbour to keep watch over your granddaughter. Praying for your daughter.
ReplyDeletePraise God for the brave men who serve our country!
ReplyDeleteLove you my friend.
Kim
I hope your daughter feels better and safe travels for you!
It is so unfortunate how the soldiers from the Vietnam War were treated when they returned home. It's hard enough to go and serve much less not be treated as the heroes they were.
ReplyDeletePraying for your daughter and Susanna. You are getting so good at driving to San Diego now. I hope you have lots of tapes and music to listen to along the way. And it's a good time to pray
Love you,
Debbie
Thank you to your hubby. My hubby was in Operation Desert Shield/Storm. I remember the heroes' welcome USA gave when they came back, only to die down after a few months. I pray that all of us don't take their sacrifices lightly because they risk their own lives to preserve the freedom we enjoy. Right on the Lord, giving His own life for the same reason. AMEN!!!
ReplyDeleteI call that divine intervention, that a neighbor willingly helped out your daughter by watching your cute gbaby. And you, being able to get that last seat. Praying here for the Lord to give healing to your daughter, thanking Him that you are able to go there and see both of them, and for Him to be with you as your travel. Take good care of yourself sister. Love you in Christ.
Praying for you as you go to help with your daughter and grandbaby. Keep us posted. We love you and are storming the heavens with you.

I AM SOOO SORRY for daughter and I am asking for traveling mercies and no sickness allowed to you and Susanna and that Healing virtues flow in her body, home and all around her!! God is soo good getting you on that flight!! Thankyou LORD!
No one in my family has fought in a war, so I've always felt removed from veterans. But, as I get older I have a tremendous respect and appreciation for those who have put their lives on the line to protect the values we hold dear. God bless your husband.
ReplyDeletePraying your daughter recovers quickly. She's lucky to have a mom like you who'll come and care for her.
What a great list for this week of so many blessings to be thankful for.

ReplyDeletePraying for your daughter Sweetie.
ReplyDeleteAlways a blessing to honor those who served and are still serving.
Love you.
Thank you for your precious words to veterans. Please thank you husband for my family. My husband will be going to Iraq for his second tour in less than a year. I thank God that soldiers today are generally treated much better than they used to be. It seems this country has learned something!
