A Thanksgiving Prayer
Dear Father in Heaven
Please lend me Your ear
'Cause I've got a prayer
You'll be happy to hear.
Lord, there's no request list
This time when I pray
I just want to give thanks
This Thanksgiving Day.
First, I want to thank You
For gifts from above:
Your unending mercy,
Your undeserved love.
And thank You for sending
Your Son down to earth,
For now those in Jesus
Can have second birth.
Lord, thank You for saving
Your children from Hell,
And giving Your Spirit
Who comes to indwell.
And thank You for choosing me
To be Your own,
For now that You're in me
I'm never alone.
Lord, thanks for forgiving me
When I'm untrue,
And last, but not least, Father,
Thank You for You!

This was a beautiful prayer, thank youfor blessing me with it. I think your pic is beautiful, but I share your dilemma. Not ever really "Fall looking" in Caifornia. Have a wonderful week..Blessings to you, Debbie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful prayr, we do have so much to be thankful for. I think your fall picture is pretty. I live in CA. so I'll take any fall picture I can get.

This prayer is beautiful in its simplicity...nothing fancy or complicated, just the truth! Thanks for sharing - and your Fall photo is just right!

Love this prayer Mary and especially that last line...
ReplyDeleteThank you for YOU :)
I feel that way about you and about our Father!!
Have a blessed Sunday Mary
The prayer/poem is beautiful. I feel very grateful...He really does make a difference. Sarah
ReplyDeleteI love prayers that just say "thank You" and nothing else. How often do we do that? We always seem to put all of our worries on His table instead of enjoying what He already had prepared and given as a feast.
ReplyDeleteNever underestimate your ability to capture that picture. Because the differences make it all beautiful and interesting. [I'll always leave nice comments because I know you're a great "shooter"]....Just kiddingggg....
Your place is so cozy when I come and I leave always with a "smile". Love you sister and have a blessed weekend.
Oh, I did enjoy that prayer. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting this beautiful Thanksgiving prayer. We have so much to be thankful for. This is my favorite time of year and I so enjoyed seeing the fall colors in New England. You certainly don't see that where we live. It looks pretty much the same year 'round. I do love it here though.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Charlotte
